Happy Father's Day & Gift Ideas

By Diana P, Publisher of Macaroni Kid Chicopee-Holyoke June 10, 2019

Hello Readers,

I want to wish all the dads out there a very Happy Father's Day!!!

My father passed away 11 years ago and Father's Day is always difficult for me because of that. I think one of the things that hurts the most is that he's missed so much and didn't get to see the daughter, wife, mother and friend I am today.

I would love to know how you celebrate your deceased dads/grandads etc. Shoot me an email dianap@macaronikid.com and share your ideas with me.

Although my father has passed I still have other special dads in my life that I do celebrate. My husband drives me nuts most ;) of the time but he’s one of the MOST selfless people I’ve ever met. He’s a great husband, father, provider and protector. And I can't quite imagine life without him.

I also have a step dad who I love and admire very much. He doesn't take my fathers place but he has his own place in our lives that we can't quite live without either. He's been there for all that my father has missed and he has loved us without judgement, without limit. He's been a fantastic grandfather and stepdad.

I hope you all take some time out to really acknowledge and show appreciation for all your men do for your families. Life gets so busy and it can easily slip through the cracks so it's great to have a day to acknowledge the sacrifices they make for their children. It doesn't have to be super expensive or extraordinary it just has to be from the heart.
