Fun in the Sun with Books

The first day of summer is Sunday June 20th. The kids are all getting out of school and within a few weeks (or will it be days) the boredom is going to set in. It happens every year! So what better way to get some summer reading in and kick some boredom than with some fun Summer Reading programs! Macaroni Kid Chicopee-Holyoke has put together a list of reading activities for the kids of all ages to participate in! 

Tales and Tails Summer Reading Program @ the Chicopee Public Library

Kids and Teens can sign up and earn raffle tickets for fun raffle baskets. The reading program will run from June 21st to August 13th. Learn more and sign up HERE!


Tales and Tails Summer Reading Program @ the Hubbard Memorial Library

Kids, teens and adults can all register for this reading program that runs June 6th to August 31st. Read books, complete challenges, attend programs and earn raffle tickets towards prizes. Sign up HERE!


Independent Summer Reading Program @ the Holyoke Public Library

Kids and teens can sign up for the Independent Reading Program from July 9th to August 6th at the Holyoke Public Library. Each Friday children can come into the library to log the times they spent reading and earn a prize. Get more info HERE!


Barnes and Noble Summer Reading Program

Children grades 1-6 can win a free book by logging the books they read between July 1st to August 31st.  Kids will log 8 books and their favorite parts into the reading journal and turn it into Barnes and Noble to pick out a free book from the list. Get your reading journal and more info HERE. 

 

Chuck E Cheese Reading Program

From now until December 31, 2021, kids can earn 10 Free Play Points to use at Chuck E Cheese. Just print out the Reading Calendar HERE and redeem at your nearest Chuck E Cheese when it's complete! 


Scholastic Home Base Reading Program

From now until September 3rd, kids can join Scholastic Home Base online reading program to read free books online, play games with friends and earn points. The more they read, the more they unlock features and experiences in the digital platform. Sign up and get more info HERE!

Summer Reading Chicopee Public High Schools

The Chicopee Public High Schools have provided a reading list for your high schoolers. You can check that out HERE!
