I-Scream, You Scream....

Who wouldn't be motivated by ice cream?? Am I right?    My children all have review books they have to work on during the week over the summer. In order to give them a bit more motivation, I bribed them (yes, I bribe my children, don't we all) with ice cream. The deal is, whenever they finish the entire workbook, they get to go get an ice cream. 

Now to make this a little bit more enticing, I had just started following Roger's Place on Facebook and happened to noticed some of their specialty cones. If you haven't checked these out yet, you need to go HERE right now! I mean these ice cream cones are drool worthy!! So of course, I showed the pictures to my kids and told them they could pick out a "specialty cone" from Roger's Place if they finished their workbook while secretly praying they finished quickly so I could snag one for myself.  

Roger's Place is located off of Chicopee St in the Willimansett section of Chicopee and as far as I know, it's been around for years, at least since I was a kid which seems like years ago. I'll be honest, it doesn't look like the nicest area around but when ice cream comes into play, there never seems to be an issue. Everyone time I go, there is a line down the street and everyone, adults and kids alike, are just happy to be getting one of those delicious cones! There are even several picnic tables on the side so you can sit and enjoy your ice cream without kids dripping it all in your car. We decided to pop the trunk of our mini van and hop in the back since the rain had been popping up out of no where all week. 

My 8 year old daughter Aubree has got to be the biggest junk food junkie I know. Seriously, this kid is a bottomless pit of junk food, always seeking more!  So when she heard about this deal she was on it! This girl was working on her school work even on the weekends. So obviously I was not surprised when she was the first one to finish. And true to my word, we planned our date this past Sunday night to go get our ice cream. I showed her some of the yummy cones Roger's Place had on Facebook including the Pistachio Bomb and the soft serve with dip in the middle!! 😯 

She opted for vanilla soft serve with cherry dip in the middle and topped with crunch coat. But that didn't beat mom's treat. I went for the specialty cone, Pistachio Bomb-pistachio soft serve filled with pistachio pudding and rolled into crushed pistachios!! It was even better than I thought it would be!! 

I never really had a favorite ice cream shop before. I usually just stuck with whatever was closest to my house. But after this last experience, I would drive across town to get ice cream from Roger's Place. It is most certainly our favorite ice cream shop in town!
